participatory journalism in KZ

as an example of participatory journalism site in Kazakhstan I want to choose www.kolesa.kz.

the site is mainly created for people to post there their announcements about selling cars, autospare parts, different equipments and accessories. it has significant number of advantages like you can post any kind of announcements free of charge, also there you can find any type of car that is being sold in the market. and your announcemet could be posted in the “KOLESA” newspaper if you wish to. so you can visit site if you want either to sell or to buy a car. and one of the biggest advantages is that there you also can find lots of information about new cars, comparative analysis’ between cars, and useful advices.

so, you might ask me how does this site relate to participatory journalism? and the answer is the another good side of the KOLESA.KZ.

as we know from “we media” and other material provided by our lecturer the definition of participatory journalism is : the act of citizens “playing an active role in the process of collecting, reporting, analyzing and disseminating news and information,”

So, first of all in the ”kolesa” people can chat with each other through the comments. there is a possibility to ask questions in the form of comments (e.g. how long your car is being used in Kazakhstan?). Then the kolesa team send an email to the author of the announcement and he can easily answer the question. it is very useful and easy because there is no need to register or make any payments etc.

Secondly you can find not only information provided, but also ask your own questions or you can ask to make a comparison between cars that you are interested in. ”Kolesa” could answer by themselves but they also give the opportunity to people to answer you or just to post something interesting.

thirdly, “kolesa” has its own forum(http://forum.kolesa.kz/)                                                             you can make judgments ony by a numbers: for example currently there are nearly 40000 announcements.  

Personally, i like this site very much, because i have a small business with cars and KOLESA is a great assistant in it.

my communities

If to talk about communities, of course I’m also a member of such ones. I think it is impossible to be in none of the communities because it is not up to you. Society is divided into groups in order to connect people with similar interests, talents, points of view, lifestyles, etc. So, if you are a human being then you must be a member of any community.

Concerning me, I want to tell you about couple of most interesting communities that I participate in. First of all, it is my soccer team. It seems that I started to play soccer since I was bornJ. It could be considered as a sportsmen community as a whole, but I’d like to consider a smaller one – my team.

As any other community my team has its own rules and principles, and of course it differs from others. I mean that if to take other teams, we all have different trainings, tactics, systems, etc. Of course, there are several reasons that I’m acting there. As any community does, my team also satisfies some of my needs. Although I recently stopped my professional career, I like soccer very much; I enjoy every game and every training. It is the first and the biggest need that my community fulfills. Then as any type of sport it demands discipline, so it helps in my everyday life as well. And finally it helps me to support my physical condition. If to talk about strengths and weaknesses of my community, I think that strengths are clear. What about weaknesses?  Unfortunately there are some. First of all professional sport needs total self-feedback, so you have to refuse of many entertainments. Then you have to be ready for many traumas and so on. Generally speaking, I am grateful to my community, because anyway it is a big life experience.

Another community that I participate in is “my close friends”. It is a group of few guys who know each other from a childhood. There are no certain obligations or rules, because it is based on pure trust and fidelity. Such groups are unique, with own traditions and habits. The main strength of this community is that it is checked up by time. I think that it is superfluous to speak about what kind of my needs this community fulfills.

What is Journalism?

Journalism is a profession of making people’s life more interesting. Journalism- is gathering and dissemination of information about current events, trends, issues and people without bias. It is made by publications, news, stories, entertaining pages, etc. Ideally, journalism must produce useful and truthful information, so that people of other professions could have brief information of what is going on in the world. Journalism is important because it is the basis of mass media. Also journalism could be a tool of PR. Journalists are people who pracrice journalism. They are expected to be honest, objective and unbiased. It is a people who find sources for new article and then try to deliver it to reader (or viewer) using tools of mass media (newspaper, television, radio, magazines, documentary films, internet). I think to be a good journalist you must not only be master of finding information, but also be able to make article in your own way so that it will catch the reader’s or viewer’s attention.

The unofficial Mercedes-Benz weblog

The weblog is pretty interesting. I decided to choose it because I like Mercedes cars. Moreover, it is one of the greatest car manufacturing companies in the world, that is why i think that there are millions of people who love Mercedes too. The other reason to choose it is that it has interesting news about what Mercedes-Benz did and is going to do. Thirdly, it has pictures of mercedeses that had gone through different tuning companies. I guess that it would be interesting for anyone, who likes cars. I hope that visitors of mine would enjoy this weblog.
